MATS - single, shadow, & multiples

A mat can add value and focus to an image, because of this 
we offer an assortment of mats for our frames. Many of our 
frames are sold pre-matted with a single 4-ply, acid-free, 
white with a white core mat. On other frames the mats are 
available as an option, as a shadow mat and/or as single mat.

The Metros are frames that are sold pre-matted with a 
single mat and the other frames have the mats available as 
an option in many of the sizes.

Not all mats are available as a standard item in all frames. 
Mat codes listed next to the frame sizes are the only mats 
available as a standard item. Other mats may be requested 
from the catalog for the frames, but graphics may not be 
available. 

Custom mats are available for a set up fee per size opening. 
Other colors of mats may be available for an additional fee.

Item Code - The mat code used when ordering. i.e. Q0810X13
(for a seperate mat or for a frame where a mat is not 
included) and F0810BD14 (a black Fineline 8 x 10 with a 
optional double mat with a 5 by 7 image opening).


•	Shadow Mat Option - Mats that have an asterisk next 
	to the 	image opening may be ordered as standard 
	shadow mat. The letter X before the mat code refers 
	to a single mat and the letter D is for a shadow mat.


•	Mat opening - The number shown is the recommended 
	image size for the mat, in inches and not the actual 
	opening of the mat. The actual image opening of the 
	mat is based upon the size of the frame. For frames 
	7 x 7 and smaller the opening is ¼" less than shown 
	and ½" less for 8 x 8 and larger frames. The "Skinny 
	Mats" #02, 03, 07, and 12 are ¾" less than shown. 
	For example the #03 mat the actual opening is 
	3¼ x 4¾ inches, 1/8" overlay on each side of the image.

•	The #38 mat the actual opening is 7½ x 11½ inches, 
	¼" overlay.

•	The #12 mat the actual opening is 7¼ x 9¼ inches, 
	3/8" overlay.

Frame Size - Our mats are listed by size of the frame they fit into and not by the image opening. As shown, mats #12, #13, and #14 will fit into an 8 x 10 frame.
